Harris Teeter TRIPLE COUPONS Adventure - 5.16

As I said in my previous post, I'm trying to get back on the horse - of blogging, and serious couponing!

So last week, my ol' friend Harris Teeter had one of its regular TRIPLE COUPON events. Thanks to MyCouponTeacher - I had an excellent list of coupons to cut and what to look for at the store.

Here is what I ended up getting for FREE (about $40 worth of goods!):

2 packs of Yoplait Light with Granola, 2 International Delight Creamers, 2 packs of Mentos gum, 2 Gold Peak Ice Teas, a pack of Jello Temptations snacks, a bottle of Texas Pete Hot Sauce and THREE bottles of Tabasco
Unlike sometimes when you get a lot of free goods, these are all really useful things! Unfortunately, I think yogurt is gross, so I gave those to a friend who is a healthy soul, and gave away a chocolate-y creamer to someone with a sweet tooth.  And lest you think that I have a serious spice addiction, I already gave away 2 of the Tabascos to my spicy friends.

Harris Teeter - TRIPLE Coupons - Hoot hoot HOOT!

It seems that my blog is turning into a Harris Teeter focused extravaganza.  If that is the case, I apologize for those that live states away from a Harris Teeter.  But for those of you that do live close, I hope that you are as excited as I am!  I spent at least an hour on my couch last night printing coupons...watching Vampire Diaries.  Don't judge me! :)

TRIPLE coupons start tomorrow.  This means any coupon LESS than $1 will triple in value.  So a .75 cent coupon would be worth $2.25, .50 cent would be worth $1.50 and so on.

You can see all of my previous posts about Harris Teeter here: Harris Teeter Past Adventures and Tips.  It seems that this is VERY rare, as I only remember this happening once in the past year or so, as compared to the Super Double event that happens a lot!

For this specific coupon event, I've printed most of the coupons using my trusty Coupon Printer!

I've found the best match ups here: Our Coupon Home

To show you my obsession, I may have discussed going BEFORE work tomorrow so I can be sure to beat the crowds...and then maybe again on Thursday if I can't do it all in one trip!  I would say I need a hobby...but this is it!

This is what true beauty looks like.

CVS Adventures 4.17.11

I headed off to CVS Sunday knowing I was going to pack a punch.  I don't usually get a TON of stuff at CVS, but the coupon gods were with me yesterday, and there were lots of things happening.

You can check out http://www.simplycvsshopping.com/ for some of the amazing deals you can get, and weekly coupon matchups!

So I had some ExtraBucks to spend, so I figured I would pay for my items, using those, and get some ECBs back.  With all of my coupons and all of the sales...my total only came to $1.39!  And I got $6 ExtraBucks BACK!

I also got 6 packs of Adult Depends (clearanced at $1.82 - had a $2.00 off coupon!)...but that is a whole other story!

So I had a coupon for pretty much everyone of these items.  Aka...like 20 coupons.  At the counter, everything was going very smoothly and we got down to my last few coupons, and instead of taking $2 off, it ADDED $2.  Obviously, not ok with that, the manager came over, tried to fix it, failed and then announced that we had to VOID the whole transaction and start over.  At this point, there was a line of about 20 people behind me, but I didn't dare look back to see their glares of hate.  Also, mind you, this meant I had to RE-take out my 6 packs of adult diapers (I promise, they aren't for me!) in front of a large CVS mob.  Ahh the plight of a couponer.  My cashier was extremely helpful and had a great attitude and just started over.  And it went off without a hitch!

It was amazing, and one of the better CVS trips I've had in recent weeks.

Again, if you want to get in on the action and see EXACTLY what you can get with coupons, go to http://www.simplycvsshopping.com/ or IHeartCVS.

CVS Adventure - 4/3

Following up on my post yesterday I headed straight out to CVS.

Here's what I got:
  • complete multi-purpose solution $8.99 (used -$1 complete solution COUPON - 4/3/11 ss)
    • get $8.99 back in extrabucks - ($1.00 $ MONEY MAKER $)
  • 2 oral-b manual toothbrush - $2.99 each (used $2 Oral b toothbrush COUPON - 4/3/11 p&g)
    • get $.99 back in extrabucks (each) (FREE)
  • crest pro-health complete rinse - $3.49 (USED $1 CREST RINSE COUPON - 4/3/11 P&G)
    • GET $2.50 BACK IN EXTRABUCKS (FREE)

I used ExtraBucks I had from last week, to pay for the majority of these goods - which I will do next week too.  This is the beauty of the system...it just keeps rolling!

Unsurprisingly, I forgot a few coupons (as I mentioned before, I can be a bit scatterbrained/my purse is a hot mess!), so I will be heading back this week to snag these as they are FREE:

And right now, if you "Like" CVS on Facebook, you can print a $5 off $40 coupon to use! (Though I rarely spend that much...you might need some goods!)  Find that coupon here: CVS Facebook Coupon Offer.

Actually, a great way to use that $5 off $40 would be to buy (only if you want or need them!) Crest WhiteStrips.  This week, they are on sale for $34.99 AND you get $10 ExtraBucks back AND there is a coupon in this week's Sunday paper/coupon inserts for $10 off Crest WhiteStrips.  So you would pay out of pocket $24.99 - but ALSO get $10 back.  So it's like getting them for $14.99 - which is an excellent deal.

And don't forget to ALWAYS scan your CVS card at checkout!

CVS Adventure - 3/21 - How to get stuff for FREE

Now this is a week or so late, forgive me!
So I thought I would show a simple of example of exactly "how" you can get things for free at CVS.

Last week at CVS, a bunch of Reach items were free (toothbrushes, floss, etc).

I bought 5 toothbrushes, marked at $1.00 each.

Then I used 3 coupons I've been carrying around for awhile from my coupon holder, a few of which you can still print here:  Reach Coupons

The coupons equaled to $5.00, so all I had to pay was $.30 in tax.

And this year at our yard sale, I will sell each toothbrush for (at least!) $1.00.  So if I sold them all for $1.00, I would make back in CASH $4.70.  Not to shabby for a day at CVS!

My Life's Ambition

If you know me at all, you know that I love coupons and the "hunt" more than anything else. I will gladly drive miles across town just to get a free men's deodorant (that I clearly don't use). And you wonder, where does this drive/passion/obsession/insanity come from? Obviously, I get it honestly. This is my mother's cabinet (and this isn't even all of it!).

People always wonder, what are you going to do with 87 toothbrushes? Well, there are a couple of options of what to do with your "un-needed" items.

1. Use it. I haven't bought toothpaste, a toothbrush, floss, mouthwash, lotion, shampoo/conditioner, aspirin, lady products, etc in at least a year. And I get a little jolt of adrenalin every time I use something and think "yeah, this was free."

2. Sell it at yard sales. And YES to those questioning, people will buy NEW toiletries at yard/garage sales. You wouldn't believe what people will buy. I have experience, and have watched the toiletries tables get cleaned out immediately the past couple of years.

3. Be generous to your friends. I had a friend recently mention that her boyfriend took their toothpaste on his trip with him, so I brought one to her, (as I may, or may not, currently have about 12 toothpastes in my possession), and I'd like to think that it made her day. And even if it's not saving money for me, I love saving money for anyone.

4. Donate it. The picture below is of all of the treasures that my mom took to a shelter this past winter. LOOK at this picture. How amazing is it to take a load like that to a shelter to people who need it?

Just another reason my life's ambition is to be more like my mom.
